Ode to Sunlight

You are like the sun -
You are always somewhere
And giving your sunlight to all distant lands
Though you’re, like with Earth, -
You seldom shine here
The beam of your smile hardly warms up my hands…

You’re seldom in here, shining over my pole
And deep in the snow is hidden your call
My soul ever wanders like waves on the shore
And all daily things sound more like a chore…

Will ever be end to the sunless routine
So days may be longer, the sun to pop in?
The cold to surrender,
The spring to come in,
The heart to grow tender,
And snow to melt in?

Yet, here is the silence -
The stillness of time…
And feelings are frozen
And dry as the lime…

They’re hard and uncertain
And tighten within…
They wander through darkness
Their howling is in...

Like lichen’s - their growth
Unnoticed in years…
Sometimes they escape
Through clean, cold bitter tears…

Invisible life in the lack of sunlight
Sometimes it’s a wonder,
Sometimes - bitter fight…

I miss you, my sunlight…
I long every day…
I’m yearning for your shiny rays on my way…
