     Russian inner strength

Do not try to frighten us by foes
And by gifts we cannot be "saved".
Something essential is in our peoples
That the foreigners just never find.

Something supreme is above our men
Or it's hidden somewhere in us.
That with words there's no way to explain
But it plays in the shining of eyes.

This is Russian strength and power
That was given to us with milk of mum,
That not once in the sky raised us over
Land and even after terrible harm.

That which keeps us and sometimes can ruin...
But if the hour of trial comes ever,
By this strength,the whole Russia will awaken.
And it will live after us forever!..

 Нас не надо пугать врагами,
 И дарами нас не «спасти».
 Что-то главное есть меж нами,
 Что чужому не обрести.

 Что-то высшее есть над нами
 Или спрятано где-то в нас,
 Что нельзя изъяснить словами,
 Но играет в сиянии глаз.

 Это русская наша сила,
 Нам по крови она дана,
 Та, что в небо нас возносила,
 Поднимая, порой, со дна.

 Та, что нас и хранит, и губит…
 А придет испытаний час,
 Всю Россию она разбудит
 И останется после нас!..
