A Good Part Of Your Trip

I’m more like you than you will ever guess;
I well conceal it, for I want to hide it,
Your weaknesses, them all I do possess,
Whatever you have tried, I’ve tried it.

I’m more like you than you will ever know,
I’ve fallen many times and hurt myself,
And just like you, when on I couldn’t go,
I’d seek to hold on to somebody else.

I’m more like you than you will ever see,
Because it’s nothing that I want to show.
I will seem strong, and you’ll believe in me,
And this will maybe help you grow.

Little you’ll know of how I cry at nights,
My weaknesses all flying through my sleep,
But I’ll thank God, because when everything’s set right
I’ll know I was a good part of your trip.
