Не говори «Могло бы быть иначе».
В одну ведь реку не войдёшь ты дважды.
Кто делал, тот и сможет паче.

Мы совершим лишь то, что можем совершить…

Мы заберёмся там, где можем. Не болтай
О бурях вражеских, что высоту сокрыли.
Какой орёл, пусть в страхе, не нашёл свой край?!
Кто плыл, так те доплыли.

По-моему, «могло бы быть совсем не так» -
Дурная фраза, ложная идея.
Ведь делаем мы первый шаг,
Заслуг прошедших не жалея.

It lacks force, and life's best truths perverts:
