Flattery will get you anywhere –
That is a rule to open all doors, my dear,
To soften cruel hearts and make them melt -
Just follow the rule and don’t forget
To say: “Your Majesty! You are the best,
The cleverest, the smartest, and the rest!
You know everything but I will tell you more
To be profound to the score.”
You build a bridge of trust to Royal heart
By spinning nets of lies refined and subtle.
You weave a plot and scheme –
Sophisticated lace
To sweeten up one’s hearing
That never sounds base,
Direct or mean, or rude, or low…
You customary weave obsequious intrigues -
It’s not an easy job, you know!
Like gold filigree all monarchs love,
Your courteous compliments should be above.
Remember! Flattery will get you nowhere
Unless your compliments sound sincere!
