January 10th – Max Roach’s birthday.  In 2014 there is 90 years since he was born.


Jazz drummer, composer, percussionist, educator Max Roach
Developed his own revolutionary, innovative style, approach.
Rhythm, melody, theme he incorporated in music expression.
He dared not to limit his imagination and free improvisation.

Max had not stop evolving, he searched for novelty, originality.
He manifested talent, versatility, virtuosity, drive, individuality.
Incomparable was Roach’s professionalism, artistry, musicality.
Collaborating with creative people resulted in a superb quality.

Roach had achieved much recognition, praise & appreciation.
His fast paced bebop style and novel standard was influential.
Max had contributed to drumming his talent, effort & ability,
Being remembered for persistence, courage, will & viability.

January 10th – birthday of Max Roach, inventive jazz musician.
Performing with choruses & orchestras was part of his mission.
He had established modern jazz with new way of playing drums.
Max had continued moving forward, able to pioneer & surprise.
