Diaries

She looks in the mirror with utter jubilation,
Enjoying the thought that yesterday’s frustration
Is gone, and now she is confident, proud of herself,
She’ll throw away the diaries from the dusty shelf,
All the gifts and keepsakes reminding of him,
And the road ahead that once seemed gloomy and dim
Brightens up as she realizes that she can survive
Without Elton, without school days. It’s a new life
Awaiting her outside. It’s like a bright ray of sun
Breaking through the darkness of her once depressed soul.
And she’s a new person, self-confident and ready
To take her life under control, and she’ll keep steady
The steering wheel in her hands as she drives on this road,
The challenging road of life. And yesterday’s heavy load
Will no longer weigh upon her shoulders. She feels great!
She can climb the mountains and be the master of her fate.
