A change

What a change, she’s now a grown-up,
She will leave behind the days of yesterday,
She would probably say “be quiet and go away”
To anyone who would try to teach her life,
Try to teach her the mundane wisdom she knows,
She’s been through depression, sadness and tears
And now she is saddened, but smiles at cheers
When she recalls yesterday’s love, her naive nature,
She will now live on, she is now so strong,
No one can hurt her, nothing can go wrong
And, perhaps, it is cynical, but it’s the only way
To survive in this world, to strangle the pain
That once tormented her heart. The love that’s gone
Would be left behind, though he was second to none.
