Martha Tilton

Martha Tilton – swing singer known for performances in Benny Goodman’s band.
She manifested talent and good work ethics, skillfully handling the stage or stand.
Tilton’s “And the Angels Sing” was particularly remembered as major highlight, hit.
Her outgoing personality spiced her performances, along with exuberance and wit.

Martha had been considered a pop singer of her time, a great vocalist of swing era.
She had performed with several bands, took advantage of opportunities and dared.
Tilton collaborated with Benny Goodman, Hal Grayson, Jimmy Dorsey, Artie Shaw. 
She did work in films, on television, radio, hosting “The liltin Martha Tilton” show.

Martha was pretty, feminine, vigorous, charming, known for warm, sincere smile.
She had good taste and always was appropriately dressed with a traditional style.
Tilton conveyed herself as friendly, kind, well rounded, determined, courageous.
Her vocal gift and execution were inspiring, enthusiasm and warmth - contagious.
