Louis De Funes was a genius French comedian of Spanish origin or descent.
Whether in leading role or as an extra, each his performance was an event.
Louis’ abundant vivacity, mimics, demeanor, gestures and facial expressions
Made him a prolific French cinema’s comedy star, celebrity, icon, sensation.

Funes won his audience by making them smile, laugh, light hearted, relax.
He changed face expressions, exuded quick wit, caused fun faster than fax.
Louis on screen portrayed characters that were selfish, hyper, impatient.
No comedy French film goes without Louis de Funes’ notice or mention.

Funes managed fulfilling potential and talent in voice dubbing, theater, film.
He was extremely active, as his work was for him a physical and mental gym.
Louis’ versatility had been comprised not by acting but a jazz piano playing.
A master of his craft delivered fine performances, maneuvering or swaying.

Funes appeared to be quiet, shy and modest as an individual in his daily life.
He cared for his family, enjoyed growing his roses, in which he’d simply dive.
Louis had dedicated himself, generously contributed to work, home, people.
He aimed for growth, evolution, reached success remaining modest, simple.

July 31st – birthday of Louis de Funes, an extraordinary, gifted human being.
He’s gone for 30 years, we watch recorded performances, his genius seeing.
Funes would never be forgotten, his love for audience - mutual and sincere.
We miss you, Louis, please rest in peace, if you can feel us, see and hear.
