Anita O’Day – “The Jezebel of Jazz,” band, bebop, singer who improvised.
She had become a jazz legend, critically acclaimed and widely recognized.
Anita’s sense of rhythm and interpretation of each melody were innovative.
She had conveyed self as artistically pioneering, versatile, driven, inventive.

Her voice, wit, vision, creativity, sound and phrasing expressed individuality.
She was a multi-faceted performer, gifted jazz/pop vocalist with musicality.
Known for styling songs, her tone, rhythm, tempo, diction and improvisation,
O’Day exuded talents, spontaneity, exuberance, being a source of inspiration.
 
Anita as an artist was determined, dedicated, passionate, willed, courageous.
In her personal life, some of experiences had been unfortunate or outrageous.
Drugs, drinking, rape, miscarriages made her resilient, stronger and distinct.
Anita had grown, incorporating in her life experience, strong spirit, instinct.
