О, Боже, разреши двойной вопрос:
Твой Сын мне прочит царствие Твоё,
И  он же Троицей, узлом её,
Связал всё то, что жертвой нам привнёс
Он – Агнец принял смерть. Сквозь море слёз
Наш мир узнал другое житиё.
Сын дал нам два завета: о своём
И о Твоём наследстве. Но курьёз
В законы внёс и не утихнет спор –
А можно ли исполнить сей устав?
Пусть так! Закона буква – не укор,
Коль дух в целебной благодати прав.
Так краток Твой закон и Твой завет:
Любовь! И без любви нам жизни нет!

------------------------Hath made two Wills which with the Legacy
------------------------Of his and thy kingdom do thy Sons invest.
------------------------Yet such are thy laws that men argue yet      
------------------------Whether a man those statutes can fulfil;      
------------------------None doth; but all-healing grace and spirit   
------------------------Revive again what law and letter kill.            
------------------------Thy law's abridgement, and thy last command
------------------------Is all but love; Oh let this last Will stand!
