Когда-то, изначально, первая вода
от вод других была отделена
над нею ангелы, не прекращая, песни пели,
не подпуская Купидона к колыбели
Небесные Праматери, сокрывши Лики,
неисчерпаемой любви воспосылали клики:
слепо-глухой ребёнок от рожденья
воспринимает всё вокруг
сквозь это внутреннее пенье -
бесполое различье свето-тени
содержит музыку всех:
будущих и прошлых поколений
в тональности звучанья скрыта сила:
в пространстве, времени божественных
всегда она переносила.
Его улыбка - суть награда миру,
ничто во всех вселенных
с нею не сопоставимо.

Once, primordial, the first water
was separated from the other waters
over it, angels sang songs incessantly,
not allowing Cupid to approach the cradle
The Heavenly Foremothers, concealing their Faces,
sent forth cries of inexhaustible love:
a child, deaf and blind from birth
perceives everything around
through this inner singing—
the asexual difference of light and shadow
contains the music of all:
future and past generations
in the tonality of sound lies hidden power:
in divine space and time
it has always carried.
