Когда-то, изначально, первая вода
от вод других была отделена
над нею ангелы, не прекращая, песни пели,
не подпуская Купидона к колыбели
Небесные Праматери, сокрывши Лики,
неисчерпаемой любви воспосылали клики:
слепо-глухой ребёнок от рожденья
воспринимает всё вокруг
сквозь это внутреннее пенье -
бесполое различье свето-тени
содержит музыку всех:
будущих и прошлых поколений
в тональности звучанья скрыта сила:
в пространстве, времени божественных
всегда она переносила.
Его улыбка - суть награда миру,
ничто во всех вселенных
с нею не сопоставимо.

Was separated from all other waters.
Above it, angels sang without ceasing,
Keeping Cupid far from the cradle.

Heavenly Primordial Mothers, veiling Their Faces,
Sent forth cries of inexhaustible love:
A child, blind and deaf from birth,
Perceives all around
Through this inner singing —
The sexless difference of light and shadow
Holds the music of all:
Of generations yet to come and long gone by.

In the tonality of its sounding lies a power
That, in divine space and time,
Has always carried it through.

His smile — the very reward to the world,
Nothing in all the universes
Can be compared to it.
