Louis Armstrong

August 4th – Louis Armstrong’s birthday.  In 2012 it has been 111 years since he was born.


Louis Armstrong – an entertainer, genius, inventor as musician playing jazz.
He was creative in his improvisation in band and as a solo, intelligent, wise.
He pioneered scat singing style and manifested trumpet playing versatility
While having expressed his individuality and distinctive artistic dexterity.

His passion and ability for improvisation was superb, unbeatable, unique.
Armstrong had rapidly gained recognition reaching his fame, stardom peak.
Louis was able to improvise musical instruments as well as human voices.
He fostered, facilitated and retained his niche, while making correct choices.

Armstrong’s scat singing relied on melody, phrasing and diction integration.
He had dramatically influenced jazz performing with his flavor, exuberation.
Pops, Dipper, Satchmo all in one in Louis Armstrong had blended naturally.
His virtuosity and novelty continued to grow, evolve and imprint perpetually.

Louis’ technique was innovative, melody harmonious, timbre of voice just right.
He’d always been remembered in the show business and never been out of sight.
He was well known for integrating simple phrasing and complex music harmony.
Armstrong was popular at all times with crowded, well populated jazzy armory.

Louis possessed titanic charm along with sense of humor and uplifting spirit.
He knew when, where and how to make a transformation or his career pivot.
Louis exhibited commitment, discipline, consistent effort in musical venues.
He was his own cook, chef, baker, manager of vocal and instrumental menus.

Armstrong remains to live in our hearts and minds as singer, cornet, trumpet player,
Bandleader, solo performer, movie star, actor, comedian – a multitalented conveyor.
He had successfully delivered through his music human sensitivity, emotionality.
Louis’ unending interest in and true dedication to human wellbeing was a rarity.

Today is Louis Armstrong’s birthday – what an enjoyable and lively celebration.
His versatility and contribution to the music world deserves standing ovations.
When thinking of his mastery, humor and happy grin, we simply smile, dissolve
In ever lasting Armstrong’s kindness, optimism, enthusiasm, humility and love.
