I must have missed

I must’ve missed the moment passing by
I must’ve looked away or got distracted
You tell me that you have to say good bye
It’s simple math and I was just subtracted.

You tell me tender words to ease my pain
And I in turn compose a friendly smile
But in my heart I feel as if a train
Run over me and spread my flesh for miles.

I hide the pain, keep trying to pretend
To follow the logic, see the meaning.
The truth is really simple in the end…
It’s of The End unstoppable beginning.

Why do we let our feelings fade away?
Why do we always set that bridge on fire?
You’re leaving and I cannot make you stay,
Though in my heart you’re all that I desire.

I still remember our first embrace
The feeling of your perfect little body
But time will steal your smell, your shape, your face
It always does that and to everybody.

The sadness and the happiness alike
Will settle like the dust on kitchen table
Our love will turn into a distant light
That tries to brightly shine, but never able.

I must’ve missed the moment passing by
I let it slip; there is no point in crying
I look at you and simply know why
It’s raining… It’s because our love is dying.
