Stranger at night

A knock on the window, in depth of the night,
You open your eyes shaking with fright.
The curtain is moved to reveal the night’s guest,
Eyes wide open; you’re on your knees at His request.
A smile of greeting received from the stranger,
His pale cold hand on your neck; sense the danger.
Soon you will learn to obey your new master,
There is no escape; your new life is a disaster.
He’ll teach you the pain and the wisdom of life,
How to survive, how lie and to thrive,
And when you accept him as part of your soul
He’ll disappear; you’ll never be whole.
