Breaking Dawn, Part 2

The dawn is breaking like a smile,
The sun is chasing all our hopes.
You say you’ll only stay a while,
You say we’re riding scary slopes.

The dawn is breaking like a smile,
A sorry smile of summer’s end.
I learned to cope with all your guile -
You learned to hide better instead.

The dawn is breaking like a smile.
You are long gone, no note behind.
I guess that walking down the aisle
Is not what you had in your mind

The dawn is breaking like a smile,
A smirk of mocking and despair.
Inside I feel the rising bile
As I ride through the morning air.

The dawn is breaking like a smile
That’s full of sorrow, love and pain.
A sign flashed by that said, “one mile” -
I pray I do not die in vain.
