Compassion

I saw a blind man by the side of the road.
He was standing alone in an old shabby coat.
He heard the cars passing by with a roar.
He was looking for help and nothing more.

How long he was atanding nobody could tell.
And for whom he was awiting, as if under a spell?
The cars and the people were rushing by.
Nobody could hear the blind man’s sigh.

Then all of a sudden a man touched his sleeve.
And led him across that roaring atream.
They were walking together happy to meet.
Two blind men slovly crossed the street.
