Speaking to the night

I've spoken to you through a baby-born night
Through birches and rain-pattered leaves
with clouds so black in the wedding-clad skies
I've bargained a token of dreams.

You seem to be living a life of your own
So much for the childhood abuse
I've seen as if dancing a powerful oak
And laughing the wind, as if strongly amused
.
I've noticed a woman so languidly looking
At four passers-by with such different sins
My goodness! A changeling, her gaze is so crooked
A cruel, unwomanish, flesh-starving grin.

I've followed your steps through a bleak humankind
Unhindered. I've watched YOU and THEM.
You gave me myself, while I offered you wine
I've loved you since there and then.
