Me and my inner voice. A dialogue
Trying to tear down these invisible and invincible walls
But my fears, sweet and colorful like the balls
Of an ice-cream
Infect me.”
“In fact, mere
And polished lies of your imagination
Only make the walls higher
And fears stronger, and your stagnation
Is doing perfectly well
Luxuriating in its own mire.”
“I promise, someday I’ll wake up and say ‘what the hell?”
“Do it now cuz you’ve gone too far, my dear,
Here’s the bulldozer, ruin it completely, at last!
Say to your doubts once loud and clear,
Say: ‘get the fuck outta here, you, outcasts!”
“Ummmm…no.
I… I can’t, just like always. Um… I just…No.”
“And so
The bitter and merry ice-cream of your fears continues to grow
And so does the choking cage of your walls.
So come on, don’t look so sad at the curtain.
You know your excuses have always been false.
Why do you carry this useless burden?
It’s you who must draw the curtain back
It’s you who must throw the fears away
It’s you who must make all the walls around crack
It’s you. It’s you.”
I said: “OK.”
