Vampire and a Ghost
She was only 447 years old, an insignificant figure for a Vampire.
The little girl was blessed with a beauty that went beyond belief, with talents that could not be compared to anyone else’s, with a clear and logical mind and big caring heart yet...
She was lonely.
Every night the little girl wound come out of her coffin and walk the dark empty streets in a search of something or someone who would accept her for whom she was. Someone, who wouldn’t judge her for all her deeds, someone who would show her that true love does exist.
And every time she’d come back before the sunrise...alone and heartbroken, just to be sunk in her sorrows for the day until anew the darkness falls over the earth, and she will be able to walk in the night, for the sun has shunned her.
Everybody feared her.
She was an outsider.
A monster.
Someone who knew neither joy nor love.
Someone who felt only sadness and agony, yet no hatred.
She did not need to breathe for she was already dead.
Off peoples’ blood she fed, though she never wished them Death.
She was a monster with beautiful a soul, with kind thoughts.
One day as the darkness spread over the earth, the little vampire came out of her coffin, to her surprise she found a young man sitting on the chair in her house. He held a single red rose in his hand. As she slowly approached him he looked up and gave her a warm smile, which made the little vampire feel her, long dead, heart.
The man lifted the flower in his pale fingers and held it out for her. The girl looked stunned yet accepted the little gift from her night visitor. The girl was fascinated by the beauty of the little flower in her hands. She smelled the intoxicating aroma allowing a small smile creep on her pale face.
As she looked up to thank the man...he was already gone.
The girl looked back at the little flower and smiled. She was no longer alone.
Night after night, week after week, month after month...finally a few years have passed; the young man kept coming back every night to see the little vampire girl. They didn’t need words; it was enough for them to know that they were together.
One day, as the dusk fell, and the vampire girl awoke from her sleep. She found a single rose near her coffin yet no sign of her friend.
She searched the house and called his name but he was nowhere to be seen. The girl collapsed on the cold floor and buried her little face in her hands. She felt hot tears run down her pale cheeks and drip onto her silky white dress.
Suddenly she felt something cold on her shoulder; she looked up see the young man standing in front of her with confusion in his deep blue eyes. He kneeled beside her and whipped her tears away.
“I love you.” He said quietly.
Love?
That word...that magnificent word she’s been searching the meaning of for so long. Was love the feeling of longing she had when he was away? Was love the feeling she got when she thought he left her? Or was it the feeling she got every time they were together? Maybe all of those. Her inexperienced nature could not tell, yet she knew that if love was represented by such a beautiful thing as a rose that He once gave her, it must be something truly, truly wonderful.
The little girl that couldn’t feel happiness.
The one that couldn’t feel joy...
...managed to fall in Love.
How?
Love is a feeling that is entirely different from any kind of emotion: it is a combination of unpredictable foolishness & longing desire hidden in everyone.
The little vampire girl looked at the young man in front of her and knew...she'd never be alone again.
