I woke up with my eyes wide shut
In the middle of the night,
In the middle of the grayish light
With my dreams apart and the windows shut.
I woke up with a voice in my lonely mind
Telling me to stop, asking me to turn
Telling me to live, asking me to learn
Simple things in life with my heart in mind.
I woke up with tears on my pillow case
Realizing pain of this stupid game,
Realizing fear and forgetting name
That I stitched before on the pillow case.
I woke up with thoughts in my sober head
Simply letting future stop unpleasant past,
Simply giving present its upcoming rest
Making sure I keep peace in sober head
I woke up with my eyes wide shut
