A scarlet flower in its brazen bloom
Drifts through the stillness of an iron lake,
Though it has travelled for ten thousand moons,
No hidden current could destroy or break
The path of shiny petals, slightly torn,
Revived by crystal tears of the dead.
Whose raven tresses did you, rose, adorn,
Whose bleeding hands depicted you in red?
What's freely given - freely cast away,
A shore is just another world to brave.
Years twist and melt, the story has its say
And sings it to the smooth and watchful waves.
Well, if I were a composer, I would have made up some music for this... Must have been something trembling and intimately gothic. Just wonder, what made you write this?
I would love having someone to compose music for my poems - the best compliment ever, too bad you are not a composer!:) What made me write this? I never know how to answer this question - an image in my head, an impulse, a feeling? I did not have a specific external "trigger" for this poem - and rarely do:)
Thanks again!!
