The Rose and the Nightingale

Lonely-lonely-lonely song
Heard from foliage for so long.
This is nightingale up there -
Sigh by sigh, tear by tear.
Little rose down in the roots
Crying with the morning dews.
Brilliant composer sits high,
Sings his sorrowful lullaby.
He looks straight into the skies
Covered with the web of stars;
His eyes deep in the blue
Far from ground's freezing gloom.
Little rose bound by roots
Cannot breath, cannot move.
Her heart up in the boughs
Where night poet sadly laughs.
Will he ever look down,
Find the princess without crown?
