Freedom
Look: everything is all in blossom.
You breathe the scents as if of love,
Of darling kin or friend of bosom.
You bask in rays like a child at play,
Endeavoring to warm your body.
But in a minute you run away,
Now clutching rays, now trying to dodge them.
You flirt with them like with a cute boy,
A winsome smile your cheeks embraces.
You stroke the shine like a favorite toy
When in your eyes it brightly blazes.
You greet the world with every motion,
Destroying hatred, scorn, despising.
Even envy smiles, the boss just bends —
This is the way that love arises.
You see the details of summer nature:
Green leaves and funny ladybirds,
A birch-tree branch that softly scratches
Your dimples, moles, and other marks.
You catch sunbeams within a mirror
And then you blow soap bubbles high.
You giggle like a child, see and hear,
For happiness with bubbles doubles by.
Stop, stop — and try to listen
To lovely music of birds’ chirping.
Your soul escapes its prison
When your body’s bouncing, leaping.
When all the shit is thrown away,
The only thing left is freedom —
It helps you turn from crowds astray
And makes each breath of life much sweeter.
