Свет и тень

1.  Все и вся стремятся к свету, а тень отбрасывают.

                All things gravitate toward the light, yet leave a shadow behind.
                Everything strives toward the light, yet casts a shadow in its wake.
                All things reach for the light, only to cast a shadow.

2.  Место под солнцем, как правило, не оставляет ни тени сомнения.

                A place in the sun, as a rule, leaves no shadow of a doubt.
                A place in the sun seldom leaves room for a shadow of doubt.

3.  Далеко не у всех место назначения совпадает с местом под солнцем.

                For many, life's destination is nowhere near a place in the sun.

4.  Мало в жизни найти место подвигу, надо ещё совершить его.
    Найти место подвигу — ещё не подвиг. Его надо совершить.

                It's not enough to make room for a heroic deed; someone still has to do it.

5.  Не место красит человека, а место подвига.

                It is not where you stand that defines you, but what you stand for.
                A person is not ennobled by their position, but by the deeds they perform.

6.  Аккуратист, смотри: на солнце пятна!…

                Easy there, perfectionist—even the sun has spots!
                Mind your neatness, perfectionist—look at the stains upon the sun!

7.  Все хотят быть на свету, но не все готовы выйти из тени.

                Everyone wants to stand in the light, but not everyone is willing to step out of the shadows.

8.  Тень — не всегда признак отсутствия света.

                Sometimes, a shadow is simply the other side of light.

9.   Все страсти сотворил всевышний;
     Свет никогда не будет лишним.
     Во тьме напрасно ищет нищий
     Того, что днём с огнём не сыщешь...
