a weather retrospective
What's the weather like today
in Capricorn? From mornings past,
I visualise the aspect of the bay,
the sky still bearing phosphorescent
tracings from the flight of stars,
the sea ashimmer, nacreous
with glaze of pearly nautilus,
like a garden crisscrossed
with the fresh trails
of a million snails…
On the farm, trees yawn
and stretch, luxuriating,
scenting breeze, rearranging
foliage like plumage
as they shrug off dreams.
