The Castle
There is nothing inside him at all.
His grey walls are as strong as an unbroken will,
As a strong steadfast soul.
No one lives any more there inside,
He's so lonely now under the skies.
You can think he's inanimate, but in the night
You can hear how he sighs.
This old castle is the living witness of History,
History of British island.
If he could speak, he told you plenty of mysteries,
But this old castle is silent.
No one knows what he's thinking about,
But I guess I know why castle sighs:
There will be any more no duel and no rout,
And no word, and no cries.
May be that there sometime lived some lords;
Now there are just the bats in the loft.
Though this castle is stronger than thousands of swords,
But his soul is so soft!
