halves

One’s holly knife
Was sharp enough
To cut for everyone
The only half.
First, made a twist
In bits of feelings,
And melted in a gulf,
Then had it squeezed,
And blended rough.
Got rid of peelings,
Shook the substance,
Poured in a cup.
Then tied a scarf –
So don’t you pry!
And made them drink
And chock, and cough
Until the two of them
Turned into none.
But there came a cry:
“Now drink it in a gulp!”
The puzzled gave a try,
They fought the gasp,
And drank as if to still
Their thirst for life
And so they did until
The two of them
Grew into one.
