Love, set me as a seal upon thine heart. Sonnet

Love, set me as a seal upon thine heart,
And as a precious ring upon thine hand.
I promise we will never be apart,
Beloved, may thy wish be my command.

As death consumes us all, so does desire,
And jealousy will burn, as fiery hell.
As many waters cannot quench love's fire,
So words of hatred cannot break love's spell.

If someone tried to buy this love from me
And offered pearls and diamonds in return,
I would despise his gift and quickly flee,
Condemn and curse his name in utter scorn!

Love is worth more than any earthly treasure:
He who has love is rich beyond all measure.
