Resurrection Sonnet

The world was sad that early hour,
Grieving the Savior's death.
He lost His life, as a broken flower,
He, Who gives life its breath.

Then, in the east the stars grew dim,
The dawn blushed, fresh and bright,
And by the tomb a seraphim
Appeared with a holy light:

"The Lord is risen from the dead,
Creating all things new!
The crown of life is upon His head,
This joyous word is true!"

Let all creation tell this wondrous story,
And bow before the Lord's amazing glory!
