Before Sunset

Sometimes at night, before the sunset,
The sky turns colors into daze.
A wondrous picture, but to follow
You must permit yourself to gaze.

At once, the colors dance to music:
A waltz, then tango or fox-trot
And later on you’ll see a mambo
Performed by those who are well taught.

Imagine ballroom, full of people,
Each one is dressed to be the best,
And yet the colors are so even
Such dullness brings you to detest.

Although the riches of the ballroom
Do shine, for many aimless eyes,
They plainly dim before the heavens’
Invitation to arise…
