Lose to win
The worst enemy wouldn't do it any better
And her… she was a friend for me… Forget it!
I am just sorry it took so long for me to get it.
Like a shredder the lines have cut my back
She must have thought I'd get some nervous wrack
Bad luck, my poor friend, it was bad luck.
It must be such a shame for you I didn't crack.
You know, it only brought my strength of mind back.
Well, may be I have got too much adrenalin
But now I know sometimes you have to lose to win.
What she has said was keen.
She's never been so mean before,
And as for me I haven't ever felt such sore.
It seemed like I just wouldn't bear it anymore.
But still I sat and wrote a little answer
Just in response to her devotion cancer.
And what I'd written went like this:
"My dear ex-, here's an idea for you to seize.
For trusting you I've paid my fees.
I've lost the battle. I'm down on my knees.
Oh, take my best congratulations, please.
I wanna you to know that I can hardly breathe
But this was not at all a fatal wound for me
I sort of even was released.
And on the pat of you it wasn't such a sin.
You simply didn't know:
Sometimes you have to lose to win".
