Lonely
A lonely room: one window and one door.
A lonely look: her eyes are full of sadness.
A bunch of pictures all over the floor.
A silent scream, a scream that drives to madness.
A lonely tear rolling down her cheek,
A lonely thought, but not about the present.
She’s in the past, no longer feeling weak.
No longer does the future seem unpleasant.
A lonely dream, she doesn’t know it yet.
A lonely girl, so sorrowful and shaken.
How painful can a simple break-up get,
If no-one in this world helps you awaken…
An explanation, heard over the phone.
Apologies, so full of lies and phoney.
Sometimes it’s better not to be alone.
But does it guard us all from feeling lonely?
