What piglet thinks today

She thinks: the skies are gray
And pretty things as: films and romance and New York
Are unavailable and far
And golden autumn’s promise is
Just real things as rains and mud
But always there are the dreams
About crispy mornings, coffee, scarves
And house in the country and the fields
Just getting ready to a winter sleep
And herbs are dry and wise and green
It smells like autumn and the piggy comes
And gray, and sorrows and September cold
Will be as good and right as once they used to be
And promises and hopes and mistakes
And joys of wearing daily shabby jeans
Will fade away because the piggy comes
That’s what she waits and wants and thinks today (
