Real Story

I’ll tell you another story
Story of real world,
Where people seek only glory
Forgetting all those who’re involved,
Where love lays at the bottom
Of individual souls,
Where trust questioned,
Truly, closing the neighboring door,
Where people survive
Only, forgetting the real cost,
Where child may cry
And the mother will leave him
If he is not hers,
Where people see dots on the paper
And utter “that is where peace belongs.”
I’ll tell you another story
Story of cherished days,
Where singing and saying sorry                Is how we write our prayers,
Where no one opens their eyes
Promising, “Love is forever…”
And shaking hands with those who pass by
Thinking if ever, that person will enter my dorm
I’ll let him take all I have
As long as taken no lives.
I’ll tell you another story,
Story of passive minds,
Those who shout “Peace, always…”
Then let such words  fly by.
                2003, I.K.
