Though were delighted in the night.
The starlit sky, the moon, the calm
We strung on bright beams of the sun.
And ever happy in those days,
We knew there was no better place
For all the skills and songs to share
Than our land, so blessed and fair.
No better place... But we knew not
Of other places in the world,
And oft we dreamed we could explore
New lands we'd never seen before.
The songs of birds were heard in trees,
The grass was wisp'ring in the breeze
When some of us stepped to the road,
On which no other ever trod.
We had our hearts set on that way.
In those far lands we went astray,
But our desire to see and learn
Was stronger yet than to return.
So ages pass with dashing speed,
And we have much to learn indeed,
But still, like always, in the night
We seek for tales in dreams of light.
