One night I saw her in the street

*   *   *

One night I saw her in the street,
She asked me for a light, I said do quit
She had no fear, she had no shame,
Perhaps Liana was her name.

So she was standing next to me,
Her skin resembled ebony,
– You’re dead! – she told me, she was right,
But I was chasing life that night.

I had no words, no smile to share,
And who I was – nobody cared.
A billion of stars I heard
Were tearing apart the world
Without any sense and goal…

 We got one night, one way. That’s all.
