The captain of the fleet, he sits and sips
A glass of rum upon his country estate,
Recalling storms and voyages on his ships,
And how his life has been both wild and great.
He thinks of battles fought and won at sea,
And all the men who sailed with him in trust,
Of treasures found and lost, of victory,
And how the ocean's might can be unjust.
But now he's here, in peaceful solitude,
The sun is setting on the Bahamian shore,
He feels content, his heart is full of gratitude,
For all the adventures he's had and more.
Life is a journey, full of twists and turns,
But moments like this, he knows he's truly earned.
