paradise

Людмила Прасад
Paradise has no restrictions:
Open faces, welcome hugs,
Not a cause for petty frictions,
Not a place for pesky bugs.

Paradise is fresh and verdant,
Every bit of it pristine,
With inhabitants unburdened
By meticulous routine.

Here’s a stunning dreamlike view,
Here’s an angel guarding you,
Here’s a trusting golden deer,
An idyllic atmosphere
With perfection on the rise,
Not your standard paradise.

Richly dressed and richly fed,
Safe for centuries ahead,
Young in body and at heart,
Fine like medieval art.

At the gates a billboard stands:
Don’t forget to wash your hands.

Giovanni di Paolo, Paradise 1445
