Looks like a gospel quote, from say Luke,
dehumanized to John.
And not a sadder site.
To delve into the deep, they say, is more or less rewarding.
As long as you stay on God's acre.
The shadow of a church is there, to cover up
all blinded by the light of the unknown,
and not a sadder sight.
