Сегодня – первый день зимы!
Три месяца её пред нами.
А сердце просит, уж, весны,
Тепла и зелени прекрасной,
И разноцветья летних дней,
И моря волн разбег в прибое!
Но снег и ёлки… Новый год –
Рукой подать! Мирись с зимою!
Своё в зиме есть волшебство,
И радость от забав в ней тоже!
А без неё уже не так
Весну прочувствовать ты сможешь.
Today is the first winter’s day!
And three months of the winter lie ahead.
But the heart is asking for the spring,
For the warmth and the wonderful green,
For the multi-colored days of the summer,
For the run of the surf's waves!
But the snow, the fir-trees and a New Year’s so close!
Let’s make peace with the winter, my friend!
Look, the winter has its wonders
And the joy of amusements it has!
And without it, I think, you won’t be able
To feel the spring genuinely again!
