People are striving only
To get a little place in the game
Of life, while being so frail;
They pretend to be tough,
And they become numb from pain.
Are they glad to be this way?
I don’t know, but in the evenings
They sit and watch the warm window lights,
Hoping that others
Don’t live like them.
