Columbus Day

In schools, the approved history is that Republicans are good while Democrats are bad; at least, that's what I remember from college days. But what does it all mean? Surely, this is meant to protect us by denying the existence of war, or perhaps by admitting it. That is what the whole thing is all about.

Amerigo Vespucci set sail to prove or disprove if Christopher Columbus had found new land or not. Because Christopher Columbus  came back with a few artifacts, there was a need for the second look. As there were many proofs of the new continent this time around, in honor of Amerigo Vespucci, they named the continent America.

As there were some tensions in Europe regarding religious practices, many of those being persecuted were sent to the new world known as America.

As the settlers found what they considered a new indigenous people (Native Americans), they tried to open trade with them. Having guns with black powder for both protection and hunting came in handy from time to time as even more new settlers came. Native Americans did not like these waves of people arriving, and soon war broke out. Native Americans could not agree as to what to do with the "refugees" but to take their women, children, and to kill the men. But even though Native Americans with all kinds of tribes lived across the land, they could not agree among themselves on a plan to fight the "Pale Skins", and instead frequently fought with each other.

As more "refugees" came to America, they were to enter the war. But for prosperity, there was a need to quickly end wars with the Natives. So, here come the slaves from Africa.

Africa was a tribal continent and was full of Europe's colonies. It is not a surprise that chiefs of many tribes ordered their people to board the ships and to become slaves. More often, warring chiefs sold those captured from other tribes to the slavers for profit.

It is not established whether or not expansion across the new continent was foreseen as a victory in the long run. However, it was a silent war since famous black leaders such as MLK, Malcom X, W.E.B. du Bois, Elijah Muhammad, and others have either been killed or died.

Passing through the centuries, as more people from all over the world have come to the US, they all have the intention of claiming a piece of the land for themselves. So, the war continues.
