Without Address - one of the leading jazz-rock group from Russia - one of the main projects in the collaboration of Val Belin and Andrei Kondakov
WITHOUT ADDRESS* Without Address it is a name of a musical project, founded by the legendary New Jazz composer and performer, multi-style musician and outstanding guitarist from NYC - Val Belin (a.k.a. King B., Valery Belinov), in a collaboration with the young, promising bass-guitarist and composer from Paris - Andrei Svetlov( former student of Val Belin during a period of 6 years). Another co-producer and collaborator of the project is the fine jazz pianist and a modern composer from SPb, Andrei Kondakov, who brought the idea of how to name and reflect a conception of this unique project.* Music of these three composers is an amazing example of high profile on the top level in a contemporary style of fusion. It has been introduced on the first CD, called "FUSION", released on a most prestige Russian label - Boheme Music in 2003.* On the main list of WA has been invited a talented jazz musician - drummer, who was spending 5 years in Netherland - Sergei Ostroumov. On the percussion was invited a former participant of Val Belin's few previous projects (YOW, SHAKUHACHI, LZB) - Russian speaking citizen from Cuba, living in SPb - Yoel Gonzalez.
The tradition of fusion style belongs to a deep ethnical roots of the music of every race and nation, which include trance meditation and ritual dances being created before or after the music and absolutely coincided with it. A professional actress, singer, dancer and an unique and gifted performer - Queen B. , who took this role - to create wonderful environmental dance sketchers, reflecting the mood of every piece - whether it use to be a ballad, blues, funk or free jazz style.
* The conception of WA has the idea about all of the members in the group, as musicians, who's got Russian Classical Education and had changed the place of living, having different obstacles in their destinies not to be a representative of Russia - in a special terminology for official circles, so called "Without Address". That's why they've got a chance to assimilate a rich palette of a musical moods and images, belongs to a certain place of living and an ethnic environment. They have taken an opportunity of a direct and free collaboration with genetic Western musicians - truly living legends. Thanks to the opportunity to invite them like a soloist or sidemen in personal projects, they took a chance to get a really ..brewed.. product. Being Russians at the level of a culturological education and thanks to a special popularity of a traditional Russian Classic School in the West, the musicians of WA have declared an outstanding point of view on the modern musical tradition and demonstrated an unique fusion of styles in ornamentation and shaping original form in composition. Today the music of WA represents a retrospective fusion of a different musical cultures and ethno-energetically streams of our multicultural World of a Planet.
