Чтоб Ты любовь Свою ко мне явил?
И Божий Сын, в плоти рожден,
Отца величия лишен,
Был на страданья обречен.
Непостижима Господа любовь.
Им Чаша уготована испить.
И плоть, нас павших, чтобы освятить
Прольется Сына царственная кровь.
Сын воплощен,
Сын прославлен
На небо вознесен.
И мир преображен.
Затем, чтоб я, слизняк и тлен,
Был смертью Сына искуплен.
Пером под ангельским крылом,
Тебе хвалебный запишу псалом.
И вторю пению с небес:
Возрадуемся все, Христос воскрес!

The Deity was shrunk into a span.

The way the Son of God took the renew
Lost man, your vacant places to supply.
Blest spirits, tell,
Which did excel,
Which was more prevalent.
Your joy or your astonishment,
That man should be assum'd into Deity,
That for a worm a God should die?
Oh! For a quill drawn from your wing
To write the praises of th'eternal love;
