To have loved and lost,
Oh, the great learning curve!
To have suffered
At the hands of reality:
One mustn't forget,
One mustn't refuse.
But I chose to do so…
As the great one said,
“I choose not to feel a thing”,
Likewise I chose not to
Be a slave to the world
I was never a part of.
There are no lessons
Buried in the agony of pain.
There are no roads that
Lead to absolution.
One can’t transcend self,
The sublimation has no cure.
Thus I will not leave
Myself to rot
In plain view of the other.
