John grew up experiencing hurt, abandonment, rejection and he rebelled.
With each life’s challenge, problem, obstacle or stress he fearlessly dealt.
Lennon found gift, pleasure, relief in music, both playing and composing,
Although sometimes under influence of alcohol or various drugs’ dosing.
He was his own person, communicating it directly to audience worldwide.
Lennon enjoyed career, leading as driver and following as passenger ride.
His versatility as a musician applied to bass, harmonica, drums and guitar.
Lennon - a talented singer, Beatles’ leader, deserving status of a superstar.
Conveying self with generosity, intelligence, confidence, courage and wit,
Lennon as an individual and artist was novel, intuitive, progressive, upbeat.
He dared to take risks seeking change, bring avant-garde to music, film, art,
Showing as rapidly evolving, innovative, erudite, reflective, realistic, smart.
John always felt and acted as if he was on humanitarian or artistic mission,
Whether he was to promote peace or write, produce, direct on television.
Lennon wrote songs, spoke truth about human, social, political conditions.
As peace activist, John communicated dedication, passion, profound vision.
