Life is good, naturally

Àçà÷åì
To D.S.

Another year came and went away
To be replaced by yet another year,
But you still see them all, in overlay,
Like in a tree trunk - layer over layer.

A pile of winters and a heap of springs,
And every summer followed by an autumn -
A closer look inevitably brings
You to your childhood somewhere at the bottom.

When things were simple like a pot of cream,
And life was easy like a Sunday morning.
And time stood still – at least, so it would seem...
Before it ended all without a warning.

The speed of time now often makes you weep,
Just like the sky amidst the rainy season.
On God’s terrain, we’re just a flock of sheep,
And yet, to sulk and fret there is no reason.

No heavy sighs, no tears, no regrets,
No angry words against the Holy Drover.
For life has been as fair as it gets
And by the way, it’s far from being over.
