June 2nd – Marvin Hamlisch’s birthday.  In 2013 there is 69 years since he was born.


Marvin Hamlisch – a genius composer, talented conductor, fine pianist forever.
He had invested passion, courage, novelty and determination in each endeavor.
Achievements pleased him but did not compromise his humbleness or modesty.
Marvin communicated through his music with love, integrity, empathy, honesty.

He outstood with humor, kindness, intelligence, perceptiveness and generosity.
For innovation, evolution in music composition Hamlisch had genuine curiosity.
He brought into the world gift, sharing it with audience of all ages, generations.
Marvin deserved standing ovations, much love, appreciation, praise, admiration.

M. Hamlisch had collaborated with performers including my favorite B. Streisand.
Their solid musical tandem or team opened new, lasting and powerful horizons.
The “Funny Girl,” “The Way We Were” as well as “The Mirror Has Two Faces…”
Marvin would dive, absorb in song composition creating music that still embraces.

He had received Tony and Emmy, Grammy and Oscar, along with Pulitzer Prize.
Marvin elicited talent that was larger than life, which was acclaimed, recognized.
His drive, contagious vigor, artistic and profound vision, brilliance and intuition
Affluently contributed to national and international cultural, musical tradition.

June 2nd – birthday of one of the greatest composers of the era Marvin Hamlisch.
With his versatility, he was unstoppable, inventive in what he had accomplished.
We think of him today, how much we miss him, love him, value him and treasure.
When listening to his masterpieces, we’re still experiencing much joy or pleasure.
